Interested in gardens and/or gardening? Why not join us at the Garden Club? We meet on the first Monday of each month (March to December), 7.30pm at The Memorial Hall for interesting talks and social events, also summer visits to local and national gardens. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
Woodford Halse Garden Club started back in 1994 and continues to meet regularly at the Memorial Hall, 7.30-9pm on the first Monday of the month from March-December.
It doesn’t matter if your garden is large, overgrown, pristine, developing, small or non-existent! You do not need to have green fingers! Anyone who enjoys finding out about plants and nature and the chance to hear about and visit interesting gardens should enjoy being part of the club.
We are a friendly diverse group and we are always keen to welcome new people either as members or visitors for an evening. Our members enjoy the opportunity to hear from a range of speakers on plant and garden-related topics as well as subsidised visits to local gardens of interest and trips to gardens further afield, such as our coach trip to RHS Wisley in 2019 and to Waterperry in 2021. We hold an annual Christmas social event where members can reflect on the gardening year over a festive supper. We also arrange charity events in the village, such as supporting the work of Thrive (a charity which uses gardening to help change lives) with our “Cream Teas in the garden”.
Membership costs just £10 for the year and our members are entitled to a 10% discount on purchases at Farnborough Garden Centre. Evening visitors to the club are very welcome (£3 for the evening) and refreshments are available in the Memorial Hall.
