Local Rights of Way
There are plenty of local footpaths where rights of way provide public access.
A definitive map is held by the County Council but this map provides an approximate definition of the various footpaths and bridleways open around the village.
Zoom in or out or drag the mouse with your cursor to find the place you need.
Each year the Footpath Warden provides a report on the state of local footpaths for the Parish Council. Here is the most recent one: Footpath Warden’s Report 2020
Suggestions For Local Walks
Our local footpath warden is Jim McDerrmott (email: JimMcDermott5@talktalk.net). His predecessor, Joe Pitt, compiled a series of suggestions for local walks which you can find on our Woodford Walks page.
The Jurassic Way

The Countryside Code
Remember, when you are walking in the fields around Woodford, the land and livestock is our farmers’ livelihood.
Please enjoy the countryside responsibly and follow the Countryside Code. You can read the Code on-line here (opens in a new window) or you can download a copy to print and read (this version may not be suitable for users of assistive technology, you can request one here.).
