Woodford and Hinton WI has been part of the village for over 80 years and is still as especially relevant today is it has always been. We have a lively programme of speakers and events which are planned and arranged by the committee members, to provide something of interest for everyone together with tea or coffee and conversation.
We meet on the first Tuesday of the month in the Memorial Hall in Station Road at 7.30pm. In addition to the monthly meetings where there is usually a speaker on a topic of general interest there are informal groups which spring up in response to members’ interests. For example our monthly walk and lunch and book club.
Outings are arranged to places or events of interest, for example to the theatre, and at least twice a year a meal to a local eating places.
Woodford and Hinton WI belongs to the Northamptonshire Federation of Women`s Institutes the and we often join in county-wide activities organised by WI House in Northampton. On a more local level, twice there are joint meetings with neighbouring WIs in Byfield, Boddington, Chacombe, Chipping Warden and Edgcote, Preston Capes Helmdon, Middleton Cheney and Lois Weedon and Weston with the aim of hearing a special speaker and also meeting up with friends from other WI’s.
Woodford and Hinton WI is all about friendship and involvement, not just jam and Jerusalem, so please come and join us. Visitors are always most welcome.
