Community Infrastructure Levy 2020-21

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a planning charge that helps local authorities to deliver infrastructure to support their area.

Since the Woodfordford cum Membris Neighbourhood Development Plan was approved in April 2018, the parish is eligible for 25% of CIL raised on developments in the Parish.

The Parish is required to report the amount of the levy received in each financial year, how much is spent and on what. Only certain types of spend can be covered by money received under the CIL.

The report of the year ending 31st March 2021 is available here:-

As can be seen, a further £49,920 was spent on completing the street lighting refurbishment programme, slightly more than the amount of CIL received in the year. A balance of £26,986 remained on hand for future projects and this amount was retained in the Parish accounts at the end of the year.

This report has been also been added to the Council Accounts for Previous Years page.

Daventry DC web site has the history of their reports detailing how they spend their 75% of CIL. The most recent published is for 2019-20 (I suspect due to the integration into West Northants) and can be read here, whether these projects are a good use of CIL funds or not, folk will have to judge. The 2019-20 report is here: The reports are all linked from this page:
