Paul Blackwell, Chair of the Parish Council, has provided this short summary of the Parish Council meeting in October. The formal minutes will be published after the next council meeting at which they will be approved.
October 12th Meeting
At its October meeting, the Parish Council considered planning applications that included extending the Grants Hill Way industrial estate that was not supported and refurbishing retail outlets in Station Road that was supported but with certain restrictions as to use recommended.
It heard that the Gardening Club had offered to look after the Station Road entrance to the Woodland and the Council allocated additional monies to support planting.
Regarding other “green type items”, it also approved improvements to the grounds of the Memorial Hall and recognised the resignation of the Village’s grass cutting contractor – making arrangements to seek tenders to appoint a replacement prior to next year’s growing season.
The half year accounts were reviewed, and it was noted that the Auditor had given a “clean bill of health” to the previous year’s accounts. The Council once again raised the progress of the Preston Capes Road repairs with the West Northants Councillor who was present.
