Post-Sept 2020 Plans

garden club logoAt our zoom committee meeting in August we made the sad but safe decision to cancel all further garden club meetings planned for 2020. With the continued uncertainty about a second wave of Covid-19 and the need to provide adequate social distancing in the Memorial Hall, it was felt that it would be better to postpone everything until 2021 and our members who joined in 2020 will not have to pay membership fees next year.

However, as a group of keen gardeners we have certainly not been resting on our laurels, as evidenced by our recent competition featuring photos of the fantastic lockdown projects undertaken in members’ gardens since March (with first prize going to Paul Harrison for creating a wonderful wildlife garden).

In the Autumn of 2020 we will continue to communicate with our members by email and although the traditional Flower and Produce Show has had to be cancelled this year, we plan a visual “Show Off Your Garden Goodies” and more virtual activities in the lead up to Christmas.
