Safer Path To School

Wetland Top Path Beside the Byfield Road

The Parish Council has been considering the possibility of creating a “safer path to school” by improving one of the paths in the Great Central Woodland.

watch out for children signThe work would be paid for using funds built up from the “Community Infrastructure Levy” (CIL – a contribution made to local infrastructure projects by developers).   CIL funds can only be used for certain types of project and Council believes this one would qualify.

The aim is to create a safer route along the Byfield Road,  year round access to this part of the woodland and improved disabled access to the woodland. The possibility of doing this was identified as part of the Neighbourhood Plan under policy WH15 (page 46).

A proposal has been drawn up with the support of Daventry District Council. This was discussed at the June meeting of the Council and the decsion made to investigate the project further.
