A Message From the Vicar
Stevie Cross, the vicar, has passed on this message regarding local services and a call to light a candle in solidarity with all on Sunday 22nd March at 7:30pm.
The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have asked for public services to be put on hold.
Although Sunday services will not happen, Revd. Stevie Cross will be in the churches on Sundays saying daily prayer with emphasis on praying for the community. This Sunday she will be at St Marys Woodford Halse at 10am and then Holy Cross Byfield at 11am. If anyone wishes to join her and sit at a safe distance they are welcome.
A Day of Prayer
At the end of the Archbishops’ letter, they ask for this Sunday 22nd to be a Day of prayer especially remembering the health service.
As one action, this Sunday we are calling on everyone to place a lighted candle in their window at 7.00 p.m. as a sign of solidarity and hope in the light of Christ that can never be extinguished.
Stevie is encouraging everyone to take part and to ask friends and neighbours to join in.
This is a very difficult time for everyone, so please feel free to phone her for a chat at anytime. She will be phoning many of parishioners to keep in touch by but please let her know if there is anyone who you think would welcome a call.
