Here is a short summary of discussions at last night’s Parish Council meeting. The full minutes will be published here after approval at the next meeting as usual.
Council had a full agenda at the September meeting.
Works approved by the council for the village halls included:
- A keyless entry system to be fitted at both the Dryden and Memorial halls, thereby negating the need for keys.
- An accessible toilet to be fitted at the Farndon/Library toilets.
- Roof repair and a new skylight fitted in the Farndon room
The Village Archive group asked for support from the Parish council (and received it) in surveying the old air raid shelter with the hope of renovating it (through grant money) to create a permanent home for the archives and thereby extending the Village Centre/Village Hub to include this wonderful archive celebrating the rich history of our village.
Further work has also been agreed for the removal of debris both natural & man made from the culvert to include any localised areas of re-pointing/missing brickwork repair as required. This is the first step towards improving water flow in the area.
