As part of the opens in a new windowWoodford Halse Country Fair on Saturday 6th June there is an afternoon of live music in the stable area along with the BBQ and Beer Festival.
To start the proceedings, local band “Behind the Settee” will be on stage from 1.45 and performing some of the tracks from their album “Shrinking Violet”. They will be followed by members of The Rattletones, a lively band with a great following round the venues in Rugby, where they will also be playing the same evening. Next we will be singing Happy Birthday with Rhythm Street, a local band who played last year and we welcome back to get everyone dancing again. Jordie and Charlie will have some new self-penned tunes and be followed by One More Night, who promise a great set of unplugged rock, folk and more…. probably featuring some congas. They play high energy classic rock and folk songs in their own unplugged style and describe themselves as a bit of fun that has got a bit out of hand!
But that’s not all; we welcome the return of Nigel Girling who has played for some of our earlier country fairs with some great sounding rock covers, but challenged this year for guitar dominance by Toby Lee. If you haven’t heard of him yet, you will soon. He’s ten years old, has just won “Banbury Young Guitarist of the Year”, has been interviewed by Chris Evans on Radio 2 and his “Onesie Jams” on YouTube have resulted in a partnership with the “All-In–One-Company” who will manufacture the Onesie designs he creates.
Last but not least we will finish with our own Woodford Halse vocalist Russell Robinson, singing us to our close at 8pm with some classic rock and blues tracks.
You can hear many of these on SoundCloud or online, but it’s much better to see and hear them live whilst you have a burger and a “Pimms” or a pint from the beer festival. So come along and relax at the Woodford Halse Country Fair this year and enjoy nearly seven hours of music for the couple of quid entrance fee.
This is just a small part of the biggest and best family day out in the area with music right through till 8 o’clock in the evening. If you like our opens in a new windowFacebook page you can get all the updates and the full stage list. We look forward to seeing you there.”
