Craft, Rhymes, IT & More!

imagesAs well as the Local History sessions on Sunday afternoons ( opens in a new windowsee here), we thought you’d like to know about these events and activities taking place at the Library…..

Free Tablet and Laptop Help sessions are currently underway at the Library every Tuesday 3:30 – 4:30. If you need help with your tech BOOK NOW to see our resident IT buddy and learn how to get the best out of your laptop, tablet or other device!

Beside these new sessions our weekly activities are going strong:

  • Come and join us for ‘RhymeTime’ at Woodford Halse Library 11:30am – 12:00 every Saturday for under 5s! This is a nursery rhyme active sing-a-long run by our fantastic Rhyme time Leader. Grans and Grandads, Mums and Dads bring your children and stay to sing-along.
  • Knitting Club every Saturday 10:30-11:30am for 7-11 year olds
  • Free children’s craft activity every Sunday. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Family Craft Activities In the Library for children and adults to come and enjoy! Running every Wednesday, activities so far have included: a fantastic cake making and decorating session (come have a taste and bring a topping as we run another on Wednesday the 4th of Feb), pumpkin lantern craft, beautiful dream weavers and Paper Firework decorations. With activities running every Wednesday afternoon from 4, pop on down and join the festivities!

Work on the garden is progressing wonderfully, thanks to the kind and brilliant work of Abbi Bayliss and the team. The Library would like to say a big thank you this month to Alpha-Cure for donating our wonderful Library Christmas tree, which has been appreciated by all, and to Kevin Bunting for offering to help the Library with getting some soil for our garden. We are really grateful for your continued support.

Interested in Volunteering? Come and pop in to Woodford Halse Library and have a look at our many volunteer roles! We currently have volunteers helping children read, create a beautiful library garden, help with leading RhymeTime sessions and lots of other roles. If you think you might be interested please pop into the library for an informal discussion.

Last but not least, the Library space is now available to hire for community events at very competitive rates during closing time. A cosy and intimate space ideal for small to medium-sized groups, hiring options start at an hour at a time. For further information call into the Library or see the Library Room Hire page at  www.northamptonshire.gov.uk.
