Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Daventry on Saturday 23 August between 6.30am and 7am in an alleyway between Kingsley Avenue and Windsor Close. Read more

Why not pop along for a chat with recruitment officers at Daventry leisure centre from 10am to 12pm and at the Eydon village fete, Eydon Community Sports Field from 12pm to 5.30pm on Sunday 31 August.
We are also offering those thinking about becoming a special constable the opportunity to attend a free fitness check, to ensure they are fit enough to pass the required fitness tests.
The fitness test is being held in the gym at Force Headquarters on Monday 1 September at 5.30pm and 6.30pm and can be booked by emailing fitness instructor Zoe Furlong at zoe.furlong@northants.police.uk but places are limited.

Northamptonshire launches Government’s Best Use of Stop and Search
Northamptonshire Police has launched two key elements of the Best Use of Stop and Search scheme, Home Secretary Theresa May said today. While stop and search is undoubtedly an important police power, when it is misused it can be counter-productive. It can be an enormous waste of police time and, when innocent people are stopped and searched for no good reason, it is hugely damaging to the relationship between the police and public. Read more
Appeal for witnesses to collision on M1
Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision on the M1, near junction 15, on Friday evening (22 August). The collision happened at about 4.50pm on the northbound carriageway, about half a mile north of junction 15. Read more
