Independent volunteers sought to advise police
Volunteers are being sought in Daventry and South Northamptonshire to join an Independent Advisory Group to help the police understand the role and impact it has within diverse communities.
Independent advisory groups are made up of community representatives who act as a ‘critical friend’ to appraise policies, practices and procedures by the police and the Police and Crime Commissioner. The groups provide an ideal forum to gain valuable insight from different sections of the community.
The Daventry and South Northamptonshire group is seeking new members who:
- are actively involved in their community
- are interested in what the police are doing in their community
- are able to offer advice to the police and the Police and Crime Commissioner about diversity and equality issues and issues affecting the community they are representing or working in
- live or work in Northamptonshire
An administrator is also required for the group to coordinate bi-monthly meetings, paperwork, and to take minutes of the meetings.
The roles are voluntary but expenses will be reimbursed.
Information on how to apply is available online at: www.northantspcc.org.uk/initiatives
The deadline for applications is Monday, 16 December.
