Who Approves Planning Applications?

The Parish Council  cannot approve or reject a Planning Application.

Plans are approved or rejected by the Daventry District Council Planning Committee.

By law, the District Council must notify the Parish Council of Planning Applications and take into account their views or recommendations.

It does not have to follow the Parish Council’s views but it must consider them. The District Council’s decisions are based upon Planning Policies set out in the Local Plan, Planning Policy Statements (PPS) and Government Guidance.
