Pathway Progress

Today, a group of six Cummins staff, including 2 student placements, with the help of Darren & Tim from Gulliver Tree Solutions, managed to complete a path connecting the Cinder Path to Kitchen Lane, in the Woodland alongside the Byfield Road.

Our hope is that eventually this will become an all-weather path that can provide an alternate route to school, avoiding the need for parents to keep crossing and recrossing the Byfield Road.

So far, it is walkable but you will need some care and wellington boots on the first 25 metres from Kitchen Lane! The rest is reasonable for walkers but not for parents with buggies yet. We will be improving the whole path next year to make it more accessible to all, this will include installing some drainage and perhaps an elevated access at Kitchen Lane.

Many thanks to all participants! Without their help we would not have managed to have got as far with this project to date.
