There is a vacancy for a village representative on the Great Central Management Committee. Can you volunteer?
The Committee is made up of five villagers and five Parish Councillors. It makes decisions about the work needed to manage and improve the Woods for the benefit of the village, keeping it safe and sustainable. We need one more villager for the Committee.
The Management Committee plans activities, identifies budgets and funding and makes recommendations to the Parish Council – as owners of the Woodland – on any decisions or actions that they need to take in relation to the Woods.
Committee members attend a monthly evening meeting – usually the last Wednesday in the month – and may also spend time following up on projects, coordinating volunteers and external agencies and getting directly involved. Committee members are unpaid volunteers.
No knowledge of woodland management is needed, although any experience in this area would be welcome.
You can find out more by reading the Committee’s terms of reference and recent meeting minutes here.
If you would like to get involved or just want to know more, please contact the Committee Chairman, Paul Blackwell by phone: 07872 860540 or email firstname.lastname@example.org .
