Bowls Club’s Twenty-One Years
This year, the Woodford cum Membris Bowls Club celebrates 21 years at its current site in the village. The 19th August 1993 saw the inauguration of the club in the Sara field next to the cricket and football pitches. Members have improved the facilities over the past few years and we now proudly boast an ‘A’ grade green to which we welcome new members.
Weather permitting, the green will open on Monday 21st April at 6pm. Club nights are Mondays and all are welcome to come and join us and try the game. Equipment can be borrowed. All we ask is that you wear flat shoes on our green.
Why not come along to our Open Day on Sunday 4th May at 2pm? We will be happy to show you our club and let you have a go if you haven’t played before. We also welcome experienced bowlers. Bowling is no longer looked on as a sport for the retired and the elderly. Many younger people find the game well suited to them. Throughout the summer we play club competitions and friendly matches against local teams both at home and away.
If you’re an experienced bowler or if you’ve never played before, why not come up and meet our welcoming members and enjoy a quiet location, a lovely bowls green and the fun of easy-going competition?
