Local appeal following a fatal collision on A361, Daventry

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A361, near Daventry on Saturday 18th January.

The collision happened at about 11am, on the A361, between the A45 and the junction with Badby Lane.

A silver Volkswagen Golf, driven by a 34-year-old man from Daventry, was travelling south towards Badby, when it was in collision with a red Volkswagen Transporter van, driven by a 27-year-old man from Woodford Halse.

The driver of the Golf and his passenger, a 16-year-old girl, were taken by air ambulance to University Hospital Coventry. Sadly, the driver later died as a result of his injuries. The passenger remains in hospital in a serious condition.

The passenger in the VW Transporter, a 25-year-old woman, was also taken to hospital with suspected back and neck injuries.
