Do you have a few hours a week to spare? Would you like to work with the police to help support Street Watch and other ‘Watch’ schemes and share crime and policing information with local communities?

If so, Northants Police would like to invite you to an information evening about a new volunteering opportunity with Northamptonshire Police, which involves the Community Connect messaging service that provides messages for this web site (amongst many).

Volunteer Watch Liaison Officers will help Northamptonshire Police and the Office of Northamptonshire Police and Crime Commissioner establish and maintain a range of ‘Watch’ schemes, using the Community Connect messaging system and other methods to send local information to local people.

Volunteers in this role will work closely with local police and watch schemes to provide regular information to scheme members and the community about what is happening in their neighbourhood. They will be based at their local police station and would need to be able to volunteer three to four hours of their time each week.

You can find more information about the volunteer role here.

If you are interested in joining a growing team of volunteers and would like to find out more about the Watch Liaison Officer role, please come along to the information evening on Wednesday, 15 January.

The event will be held at Police Headquarters, Wootton Hall, Northampton, NN4 0JQ, from 7pm to 8.30pm.

If you would like to attend, please contact Maggie Turner by email at margaret.turner@northantspcc.pnn.police.uk or by telephoning 101, extension 345919.
